The roof of Africa
While many have heard of the name, “Mount Kilimanjaro,” its meaning seems to be less known. It has been translated as “Mountain of Light,” “Mountain of Greatness,” or “Mountain of Caravans”. This majestic mountain starts out 900 meters in elevation by the coastal savannah and reaches an incredible 5,895 meters (19,336 feet), making it the world’s highest solidary mountain and the top point in Africa. This awe-inspiring view looks out over east Africa and is a beauty to behold.
